7/29/2023 0 Comments Enter the warriors gate netflix![]() The barbarians take the Princess back into the other realm through the Warriors Gate but when Jack goes in after her, he arrives somewhere else. The next morning, barbarians from the game realm come to kill the Princess but she fights them off, destroying the house in the process. Jack gets to know Princess Su Lin ( Ni Ni) and she stays with him overnight. A warrior, Zhao ( Mark Chao) tells him that the ‘Black Knight’ has to look after the most precious thing in the kingdom the Princess. Jack goes to sleep with the thing in his room and wakes up with a sword at his neck. When Jack goes to a biking park, Travis ( Dakota Daulby), a neighborhood bully and his friends chase after him and he hides inside his bosses shop and helps out.Ī family heirloom, The Warriors Gate, from Mr Cheng’s cousin in Beijing arrives at the shop and he gives it to Jack as a gift. His mother is trying to sell the house they live in before it goes into foreclosure. Jack Bronson ( Uriah Shelton) is a teenager who spends his free time playing warrior video games and working at a Chinese curios and antiques shop. It was released in China on November 18, 2016, in 2D, 3D and China Film Giant Screen 3D, and on video on demand in the United States on May 5. Enter The Warrior’s Gate is very cheesy, but hey so is pizza, and sometimes you just want to order a pizza. The Warriors Gate ( Chinese: 勇士之門, also released as Enter the Warriors Gate) is a 2016 Chinese-French action- adventure- fantasy film directed by Matthias Hoene and written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. If you thought the movie looked stupid just from the trailer, don’t waste your time. If you liked movies like the first Transformers and the Scorpion King you can get on board with the movie’s camp. This is a B-Movie that acts like a B+ Movie.Įnter The Warrior’s Gate is a teenage boy power fantasy, but with charm. I’m a sucker for limited color pallets and The Warriors Gate makes great use of contrasting red with blue and gold. The costumes, sets, and overall art direction are beautiful. The jokes poke fun at the ridiculous situations but are never meta or self-deprecating. I also commend the film for committing to its weirdness. The concept is too ridiculous not to crack a smile. Each scene will leave you either laughing at the movie or laughing with it. Especially Dave Bautista’s take on the barbarian king. There was also an awesome wizard who needed way more screen time. The climatic battle felt cut short while the epilogue runs on for too long. The true weak elements in the film come from the fights being just “ok.” Which is a shame because there are clearly some strong martial artists in the film. The stuff mentioned above was cheesy but in an endearing way. ![]() Jack learns to be a Kung-Fu genius in the course of one week in magic China and uses his new found skills to…beat-up high school bullies. ![]() Jack has a romance with said princess who’s clearly twice his age. Jack’s hard-working single (yet attractive) mom can no longer afford the mortgage but can fund her son’s video game addiction and an impromptu shopping spree for an inter-dimensional princess. Jack’s wacky Chinese boss gifts Jack an heirloom that’s been in his family for centuries because…? Much of the film’s entertainment value comes from the jaw-dropping disregard for the plot having any internal logic. Jack’s new warrior ally ( Mark Chao) agrees to teach him the art of Kung-Fu and in exchange Jack will teach him the art of breakdancing. The movie is about a teenager Jack Bronson ( Uriah Shelton) who is sucked into a mythologized ancient China to rescue a princess (Ni Ni) from an evil barbarian king ( Dave Bautista). But there were those rare movies that were so weird/fun that we would wind up saying “Wow, I actually liked that movie.” Enter The Warrior’s Gate is one of those films. We would find bad movies on Netflix and riff on them while watching. When I was in college we had a Bad Movie Club. ![]()
